Simple expressions of love have rippling effects, and even in a “garden enclosed,” life is powerful. It is organic. It can’t help but overflow walls, spread to remote places, and ultimately win even the hardest of hearts.

Journey of Tears
-
01/29/2024
To get the ball rolling again, I’ll start off with something short. It’s a poem I was made to revisit in a surprising “this-is-the-Lord” sort of way recently. It doesn’t rhyme and needs tweaking but hopefully the progression comes through. Henna, or Camphire, is a plant metaphor I wrote about a few years back, one …

The Glory of the Morning Glory
-
08/30/2022
There is a plant whose passion and beauty I am bursting to tell you about. As it grew from tiny seed, everything within its reach became a trellis to heaven. There’s even one on the roof of my house, spreading along the electrical line!
The Morning Glory, as it is called, has a lively vine …

Witnessing a Bird Phenomenon, and a Message to God’s People
-
07/14/2022
Hello friends. It’s been awhile since writing here, but it appears to be time to pop in and say “Surprise!” and share something amazing that happened last week. Please pray about what you read here. For me, it was life-changing. But it will need your own personal confirmation and application.
But first, a back story:
Recently I asked Father why I haven’t received many dreams, insights or revelations in awhile—specifically the kind from nature. Life feels dry, although to some degree, I understand why. I’m heavily committed into writing a book, and it’s challenging and time-consuming. But still. I miss the freshness of His presence, you know? The kind of “visitations,” or even “heavenly peeks,” that leave you speechless, yet overflowing. That kind.
After asking, the answer came…

Hello From The Golden Rods
-
09/09/2021
Here in the Northeast US, entering a gate between the seasons of summer and fall, the “Golden Rods” are in full bloom. A field of these lowly “weeds” have been soaking in the warm rays of the sun for as long as they’ve been given time. Now with thankful hearts, they stretch up their full, yellow hands and wave them with every breeze.
I took the below picture on …

A Run-in With A Buck!
-
03/16/2021
My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag – Song 2:9
When running on our quiet, seasonal road, I was startled by a huge buck that suddenly jumped in front of me. He had a massive rack on his head. I must have startled him too, as he quickly turned direction to run ahead of me, his hooves spraying dirt and rocks. He then found an opening in the hedgerow and with one huge, graceful leap, bounded off into the woods.
I stopped and grabbed my heart…

A POPPY IN THE PRICKERS
-
10/14/2020
“Well hello there,” I whispered, gently touching the paper-like head that balanced precariously atop a long, skinny stem, “I certainly did not expect to see something like you in here.”
It seemed to nod, the bright splash of red peeking out of the thicket in my hedgerow. A poppy. A single, lone poppy. How in the world did it get here?
In a neighbor’s yard there is a flower garden with poppies, but with the distance and obstacles in-between, it seemed unlikely a seed blew this far. Maybe it was carried by a bird, or got caught on the fur of a stray cat?
More importantly though, how did it grow in such a hostile environment?

Remembering the Raspberries
-
10/08/2020
There are no coincidences with God! He brings His bride through, back, and into new seasons—always leaving her with signposts of grace along the way. This post is one of those…a turning point that led to a long 5 year “winter” season for writing on the Song. But that is done now. The past is behind, (Chapter 1) and ahead is a new, unchartered season with God and the Song.
