There is a plant whose passion and beauty I am bursting to tell you about. As it grew from tiny seed, everything within its reach became a trellis to heaven. There’s even one on the roof of my house, spreading along the electrical line!
The Morning Glory, as it is called, has a lively vine …

Hello friends. It’s been awhile since writing here, but it appears to be time to pop in and say “Surprise!” and share something amazing that happened last week. Please pray about what you read here. For me, it was life-changing. But it will need your own personal confirmation and application.
But first, a back story:
Recently I asked Father why I haven’t received many dreams, insights or revelations in awhile—specifically the kind from nature. Life feels dry, although to some degree, I understand why. I’m heavily committed into writing a book, and it’s challenging and time-consuming. But still. I miss the freshness of His presence, you know? The kind of “visitations,” or even “heavenly peeks,” that leave you speechless, yet overflowing. That kind.
After asking, the answer came…

“Little Bird,” as she called herself, once lived a very full life. She spent most of her time in the air; flying was her favorite thing to do! She also adored her bird friends, the ones her Creator gave her as gifts. Together they flew back and forth to their seasonal homes, raised children, and sang beautiful melodies.
One Spring day, however, Little Bird injured her wing by flying into a glass window. She thought she’d have to rest only a little while, but…

Here in the Northeast US, entering a gate between the seasons of summer and fall, the “Golden Rods” are in full bloom. A field of these lowly “weeds” have been soaking in the warm rays of the sun for as long as they’ve been given time. Now with thankful hearts, they stretch up their full, yellow hands and wave them with every breeze.
I took the below picture on …

I was at the ocean recently, which was a rare treat. As I lay on the sand, soaking in the sun, I noted all the sounds in the air: Murmurs of voices and shouts of playing children. Seagulls. The music from someone’s speaker. A plane overhead. But it was the sound of the waves …

Recently I read how bananas are picked green, and on route to the grocery stores are artificially gassed to ripen up. And because of this, they lack in nutritional value. It makes me think of our human tendency to manipulate results, and not wait for God’s perfect timing.
“I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases.” – Song of Songs 2:7
This is an important verse in The Song. It is mentioned three times, (2:7, 3:5, 8:4) and always in similar contexts. Admittedly, it took me awhile for the meaning to sink in, partly I think, because …

My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag – Song 2:9
When running on our quiet, seasonal road, I was startled by a huge buck that suddenly jumped in front of me. He had a massive rack on his head. I must have startled him too, as he quickly turned direction to run ahead of me, his hooves spraying dirt and rocks. He then found an opening in the hedgerow and with one huge, graceful leap, bounded off into the woods.
I stopped and grabbed my heart…

His left hand is under my head, and his right hand embraces me, Song 2:6
Such eye-candy, isn’t it, the embrace of verse 6? It feels like there’s no getting around it. Or out from under it. The lover has his bride locked down in love! She is hemmed in, or encircled, as the Psalmist said of himself. (Psalm 139:5)
I always admired my Dad’s arms. Sometimes over-protective, but mostly kind, safe, and strong. They come to mind now when…
